The Vision Statement

The vision of Iqiniso- Truth Training Consultancy and Care (ITTCC training Institute) is to Restore the foundation of the Nursing Profession by bridging the entry level gaps determined by high M –Score which are needed for the enrolment of nursing learners into the nursing career. The truth about the nursing profession is that it is a calling more than just a career or employment. A certain percentage of true and passionate nurses are excluded from the health care delivery system because of high rating M Score which deny these potential calling- driven nurses of opportunities for academic nursing qualification. The final outcome bring quality health care and professional competency in Consultation

Mission Statement

The purpose of the company is to increase access into career pathways to the nursing profession by equipping health care workers and health care professionals with the necessary skills, knowledge, attitudes and values needed to ensure quality health care service delivery for South African Citizens. The increase access into the health professions will reduce high staff turnover and burned out of existing health care professionals due to staff shortages thus alleviating the burden of the health care, delivery system. The manpower planning of the nursing profession in South Africa has the following nursing norms 1:5 ( HRH Strategy for the Health Sector 2016/17), ( SANC: 2009 1Nurse; 6-8 acutely ill patient). The current ratios are destabilised because of staff shortages both in academic and non academic health institutions. The consequence is compromised quality of health care standards and staff burnout syndrome.

The founder

Experience in nursing education.

  • Qualified nurse educator and former lecturer at Ann Latsky Nursing College and Chris Hani Baragwanath Nursing College.
  • General Nursing Diploma at Lebone Nursing College (Thembisa Hospital campus).
  • Midwifery studies at Chris Hani Baragwanath Maternity Hospital.

  • Graduate of the University of Johannesburg; currently studying towards a PhD with Unicaf University in nursing education and public health.

She is the founder of a growing congregation of approximately 350 believers, mostly children and youth from disadvantaged areas of Soweto and Johannesburg, many of whom are unemployed. The church supports them with food parcels, a feeding scheme, clothing and transport.

The training school was started to meet the economic and basic human needs of the founder, the communities and the believers. Revenue comes from the founder's private nursing practice and learner fees, and growth will give youth career opportunities and economic development while responding to the health needs of the nation.

Marketing plan

Why this training is needed.

South Africa's population is growing, from within and from neighbouring countries, placing a burden on the health system and its resources. Gauteng in particular has seen an influx of citizens from other provinces seeking economic opportunity.

The nurse-to-patient gap has widened. The nursing norms referenced in the plan are 1:5 (HRH Strategy for the Health Sector 2016/17) and, per SANC, one nurse to six to eight acutely ill patients. Current ratios are destabilised by staff shortages in academic and non-academic health institutions, compromising standards of care and causing staff burnout.

Government colleges and other parastatal training institutions alone cannot meet the demand for nurses. Government has allocated an extensive budget to improving healthcare, but the human resources needed to deliver care remain limited.

Current training policy is shifting nursing education to universities of higher education to produce specialty nurses. The gap will widen because those categories only qualify after many years, so there is a need for this caring category of providers.
